ARS Engineers provided PS&E services to widen and improve the alignment of Houston School Road for both Dallas County and the City of Dallas. For the County, ARS was responsible for approximately 2.7 miles of this 2-lane roadway, within Dallas County and the City of Lancaster, from Belt Line Road to Wheatland. Improvements included the widening of the roadway to 4-lane divided with ultimate capacity of 6-lanes. New sidewalks and bike lanes were also added. As the prime consultant, ARS was responsible for route and design studies, roadway design, storm drainage design, signalization and illumination design, sewer and water adjustments, as well as all land surveying.

For the City of Dallas, ARS was responsible for approximately 1 mile of improvements, from Wheatland Road to Camp Wisdom. Improvements included the widening of this 2-lane section to a 6-lane divided highway with improvements to the water and sanitary sewer lines.
