ARS was the Lead Section Designer for the DART NW-2 Line Section. As Prime Consultant to DART, ARS provided overall coordination, design, and construction management for this effort which extended north from Manor Way to Community Drive (approximately 3 miles). As a part of the contract, ARS oversaw the design of a cut-and-cover section at the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Denton Drive. This effort required extensive Utility Coordination to ensure uninterrupted service during construction and the ongoing operation of the Coca-Cola Spur at this location during construction. The ARS Team was responsible for the design of a Park-and-Ride facility at the Bachman Lake station to accommodate 525 parking spaces, as well as a Kiss-and-Ride facility at this same site. With Bachman Lake as the centerpiece of this line section, a detailed floodplain analysis was required.
Other key elements of this project included the design and reconstruction of over 2 miles of roadway, which included reconstruction of 1.5 miles of Denton Drive. ARS was responsible for all Surveying in support of the roadway reconstruction, which included both Right-of-Way Surveying and Mapping and Topographic Design Surveys.
